I’ve been with Nexus Alpha for over 4 years and my role has been taking care of the social media, marketing our products and services as well as managing PR opportunities. I work closely with Alastair taking care of our branding, strategy and website designs for Nexus Alpha.
My Role at Nexus Alpha
Going on long walks in search of overpriced (but good) coffee, going to the cinema and watching some classic chick flicks at home. I’ve recently got into baking as well, my 5 year old swears I make the best cupcakes – she’s not wrong.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I used to play the violin and once performed at the Royal Festival Hall with the school band.

My role is broad! I look after resource and staff retention which covers leading on diversity and inclusion, learning and development, employee wellbeing & internal communications. I do this in part-time hours whilst balancing life as a parent! I love my role, I enjoy getting to know people properly within the company and building relationships.
My goal is to lead continuous improvement.
My Role at Nexus Alpha
Far too many things! I love cold water swimming… it clears my mind and takes me away from any screen! Being outdoors and in water is my happy place. I also love listening to music, and I’m pretty I couldn’t exist without it.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I once took part in a sea swimming challenge in Tenby, during the race I was stung on the face by a jellyfish. It made me swim faster!

I have been with Nexus Alpha for 19 years and have many roles, from Office Administrator, PA to Patrick our CEO but the main role in HR. I have gained several professional qualifications in Human Resources Management during my years at Nexus Alpha. I have also recently taken on managing the payroll for the Company.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I spend a lot of my spare time keeping fit, doing work out classes at my local gym. I have recently found yoga and loving Bikram Yoga. Besides keeping fit, I also like to spend time with friends and family.
My fun fact
In the late 1980s I was a finalist in the ‘Miss J Sainsbury’s’ Awards. It was a big fancy award ceremony and I remember having to walk the catwalk and talk in front of the judges. I think I was nominated because I was never late, always turned up for work and my till was never out, not even by a penny!
Alastair Woodgate
Head of Design & Marketing

I joined the company in 2017, initially as a contractor where I helped design the first version of the ARRAKIS App. My role has expanded a huge amount since then and I now run the design and marketing teams - where I’m ultimately responsible for all output in those areas. This includes branding, marketing campaigns, strategy, social media and product design.
My Role at Nexus Alpha
In the last few years I’ve rediscovered how happy playing the piano makes me, so I try to play for at least half an hour a day. I also love writing and I’m working on my second novel as well as a selection of short stories.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I failed my driving test 3 times - the third time by driving the wrong way around a roundabout. I’m also partially colourblind.
