You are strongly advised to use alternative interchange stations. If you travel to the Bank and Monument areas you may find it easier to use nearby alternative stations such as Cannon Street, London Bridge, Mansion House and Moorgate. Local bus services 21, 43, 133 and 141 operate between London Bridge and Moorgate stations calling at Bank and Monument. Please note: Interchange at the station may involve walking routes at street level. In order to prevent overcrowding, Central and/or Northern line trains may not stop at Bank, especially during morning and evening peaks.

Policy StatementsThe following areas are identified specifically as part of this environmental policy. 1 Paper Use and RecyclingPrinting documents should be avoided where possible. back-ups are adequate. 2 Power ConsumptionLighting should be controlled and equipment that does not have to remain on 24 hours a day should generally be turned off when the offices are unstaffed as appropriate. 3 The Use of Public TransportWherever practical public transport should be used as an alternative to using either a personal or company/hired vehicle. Rail is environmentally most efficient and frequently faster. 4 Purchase of Environmentally Friendly EquipmentComputer systems and printers with low-power should be chosen in preference where possible. Low power lighting should be used where appropriate and care is taken in programming the office heating to reduce wasted energy. 5 Disposal of Functional Computer HardwareWhere systems are disposed of that remain functional they should first be offered to one of the computer refurbishment organisations such as CyberArk (01634 409712). 6 Disposal of Other Computer Hardware and Any Hazardous WasteAny waste deemed hazardous or likely to contain hazardous materials,
including all batteries, must be disposed of through a recycling facility. Such
waste is collected at Ashford House and should be taken to: 7 Disposal of General WasteThis should always be carried out in line with the policy of the appropriate council body that manages waste disposal at our office sites. Council collections are preferred, or where needed, only licensed contractors are used for waste disposal. 8 PackagingPackaging should be re-used wherever appropriate. This means retaining padded enveloped and equipment boxes for possible re-use. 9 Supplier AssessmentNew suppliers that we choose to work with should be asked for their general policy statement on the environment. | |||||||||
