Improved London Underground Information
28/03/08
Additional London Underground information is now available to Train Operating Companies using Tyrell, and providing JourneyCheck to their customers.
Train Operating Company (TOC) Control Rooms use the Nexus Alpha software application Tyrell to distribute both operational and customer facing information. As well as sending information, these systems receive messages from other transport operators. For example, if there was a problem on the Victoria Line, National Express East Coast would be proactively informed about it and would be able to send the information to their on-train staff. They, in turn, could warn customers prior to arriving at Kings Cross that there are problems on the Underground.
Previously, only unplanned Underground disruption was available.
Now, the following information is available:
- Unplanned Underground Line Disruption
- Unplanned Underground Station Disruption
- Planned Underground Line Disruption
- Planned Underground Station Disruption
This means that if an Underground interchange is closed at the weekend (say), then TOC Controls will have ready access to this information and will be able to make information more readily available to staff and passengers.
The additional information has also been integrated within JourneyCheck, the solution used by many Train Operating Companies to make information directly available to their customers.

A list of JourneyCheck users can be seen here.
