Software Project Manager

Andrew joined Nexus Alpha in 2002 fresh from studying Computing Science at Greenwich University.  My role in the company has grown over the years from a java programmer at the start through to the current cook pot of Team Leader, Department Manager and Project Manager.  I guess this progression has ensured life here at NAL has always been, and still is very interesting for me!

The largest portion of my time nowadays is probably spent project managing though I do ensure I keep my foot in still and do a good bit of actual programming.

Keeping it brief, as far as interests go, I enjoy playing the guitar, though actually I'm not all that good.  I have a keen interest in motor racing, especially in Formula 1, and take a great deal of pleasure from all types of moving fossil fuel burners.  I’ve recently bought my first house in Twickenham so I guess most of my spare time is now taken up visiting DIY shops and arguing about colours!  Isn’t grown up life exciting eh!

National Express East Anglia relaunch with JourneyCheck Alerts

25/02/08

Journeycheck Alerts is a new service for regular travellers on National Express East Anglia.

From http://www.nationalexpresseastanglia.com ...

"We know that punctuality and reliability are the most important service attributes and will continue to work to achieve further improvements on those we have made in the last twelve months.

However we also know that there will be times when things go wrong and when they do it’s very important to our customers that we tell them. We’re introducing JourneyCheck Alerts to help improve our information to you when things go wrong.

Journeycheck Alerts is a new service for regular travellers via which we will send you an email or text to your mobile phone when we know that delays are likely to affect the train service you normally travel on.

Journeycheck Alerts is available now and to take advantage of this service all you need to do is register here and tell us what route and what times you normally travel and provide us with your contact email address or mobile telephone number. Then, if there is a problem that we think will affect your train service, we’ll send you an email or text - as preferred – to warn you. You can elect to receive a text for one direction of travel and an email for the other – it’s up to you.

And if you don’t receive a message – we’re not expecting any problems!"
